Seeking Viability for Summer Platform Tennis

The Platform Tennis League offered organized summer play for the first time in 2014. 40 players participated in one session at Glendale Lyceum. 2015 included two 8-week sessions, 57 players at Glendale Lyceum and Kenwood CC. 2016 saw 78 different players compete in our leagues and tournaments at three clubs.
A few years ago, Viking introduced a "low bounce" ball. The ball improves play in temperatures over 70 degrees. The ball supports demand for summer play in paddle tennis hotspots (Chicago & the East Coast) as well as the sport's expansion efforts in the Southeast & Florida.
The Platform Tennis League sees summer viability as a critical component in expanding the sport and is committed to organizing summer leagues.
