1 - Footwork
Video demonstrates applications of open, neutral and closed stances during platform tennis points. Common to all is the need topcoat the back foot & transfer weight from the back foot to the front through impact, driving up through the front leg to generate power. |
|
2 - Contact Point
Inside frame of body - even with or slightly behind belly button. Not out in front of body. |
|
3 - Swing Path
The most effective shots are hit from a high point and driven downward at opponents. The swing path is still essentially low to high like in tennis (to create topspin) - but it is an abbreviated version with the swing starting with the paddle face up around the trailing armpit. The finish is then up over the front shoulder. |
