New: Competition Levels
The 2018-19 Fall/Winter league will introduce "competition levels." Players will compete in the standings against others in their level. Levels do not dictate weekly pairings - those are done in relation to the individual's position within the whole group. Strength of Schedule is factored along with won loss percentage to determine each player's position in the standings. View last year's standings reconfigured for levels.
"In or Out," Scheduling & Weekly Pairings
There is a simple opt "In or Out?" process each week. Players can specify time or geography when needed. Once the "In" group is known, a schedule is made that takes into account: player compatibility, variety, balance of being best-middle-worst on court plus time and geography restrictions. Click weekly court pairings explanation for more. Click to view a sample player's court pairings for last year.
Players have some scheduling flexibility. They will be able to select a geographic area or a time slot when needed.
Guaranteed Play Option
Players selecting "anytime" and "anywhere" as preferences for the week are guaranteed a spot. No forfeits or benchings due to crowded team rosters.
99% "Positive" Experience
99% of players responding to last year's Platform Tennis Market Survey indicated that their participation experience in the Platform Tennis League was "positive."
Session #2 Registration
Session #2 registration will open in November with payment due by December 15. Spots will be held for players participating in Session #1.
