Match Predictions

The number represents how many games the underdog is expected to win. So, a "6" would anticipate a score like 6-3, 6-3 or 6-2, 6-4. The underdog needs to win at least that many games to cover, the favorite needs to keep their opponent below that number to cover. Note that matches through the round of 16 are all two sets with a tiebreaker played instead of a third set when needed. This tiebreaker counts as 1 game.

Hertzel Cup is Feb 27

2/12/2021

This year's Hertzel Cup "City Open Championship" will be played Saturday, February 27 at various Cincinnati clubs. All teams are guaranteed at least three matches. A tournament favor, lunch, dinner, beer, balls & prizes are also included. Most years, the draw size is 48 teams. This year may need to be limited a little to adjust for COVID, so grab a partner and sign up quickly if you intend to play. Although the general competition level for this event is considered pretty high, any PT League player with at least a 1,000 "Pairings Points" or an APTA PTI rating lower than 25.0 would probably have at least a few competitive matches.
