Cabrera & Montgomery Win A/B Tourney

Rex Cabrera and Dave Montgomery won their round robin group, then won a pair of one-set matches to take the 2015 Platform Tennis League A/B Tournament title. Round robin play was held at three clubs - Glendale Lyceum, Wyoming Golf Club and Losantiville Country Club. The round robin group winners then played semifinal matches at Glendale Lyceum. Cabrera and Montgomery defeated Thorsten Knobloch and Kyle Wilkins 7-6 (7-3) in their semifinal. Thaddeus Reed and Andy Heldman defeated Jasen Hansen and Anthony Palmenter 6-3 in the other. Cabrera and Montgomery came back from 4-2 down to defeat Reed & Heldman 7-5 in the final. The event, which wraps up the 2014-15 Platform Tennis League season, pairs players who finished at the top of the regular season standings with players who finished near the bottom - 1 with 32, 2 with 31, 3 with 30, etc. This was the second annual A/B event. Last year's victors were Luke White and Lee Lonergan. Lonergan participated again this year and was paired with John Van Lokeren.
