Flight One: Bakker New Streak Leader, Michael Todd DebutsRob Bakker extended his league winning streak to 22, ending Doug Jones' 54-set streak (36 in flight one) in the process (Bakker/Shiels d. Jones/Todd 6-1). Bakker also took the lead in the standings, improving his season record to 10-0. Bakker is currently ranked 3rd nationally with partner Flip Goodspeed (APTA rankings). Cincinnati Paddle Tennis welcomed back Michael Todd from Connecticut as he made his Platform Tennis League debut. Todd, a two-time city champion, played both sessions and went 4-3 for the night. Flight Two: Fovel Maintains Lead, Spray Moves UpJohn Fovel went 2-1 on his court to maintain his spot at the top of the Flight Two standings (trails only a couple of Flight One players who filled in). Fovel is 24-7 on the season with a winning percentage of 77.42%. Steve Spray improved in the standings with a 3-1 night. He is now 8-3 in Flight Two matches with a winning percentage of 72.73%. Ben Keating also went 3-0 on a court for the first time. He played both sessions and was 4-2 for the evening. Click for full Flight Two results. Reminder: No PT League Next Week (Thanksgiving)The Platform Tennis League will take a one-week break for Thanksgiving. The next scheduled league night is Thursday, December 4. We will also be off on Christmas and New Years Day.

Flight One: Busy Night Interrupted by Light MalfunctionA busy night in flight one was interrupted by a blown fuse box at Glendale. Despite the malfunction three courts were able to complete play & one managed partial results. Doug Jones remained unbeaten for the season, going 2-0 on a court with Eric Toth, Scott Triplett and Evan Webeler. Dating back to last year, Jones has now won a total of 50 consecutive sets in the league (35 in flight one). The streak will be tested next week as flight leaders will square off against each other. Evan Webeler played two sessions and went 4-1 for the night. Scott Boster, Vince Prop, Brad Pierce, Dan Mott and Thorsten Knobloch also had winning records for the evening. Click for full flight one results. Flight Two: White 4-0, J. Heldman, Rafalo, Boughton, Jordan 3-1Luke White and Ben Hall each participated for the first time this season. White, usually a flight one player, went 4-0 on his court. Jim Heldman, Andrew Jordan, Steve Rafalo and Bill Boughton each went 3-1 on other courts. There were no flight three matches scheduled. Flight Two: John Fovel Takes Lead in StandingsJohn Fovel went 3-0 on a court with Brett Decurtins, Matt Allare and John Fovel. With the wins, he improved his record to 22-6 within the flight.
