Columbus Summer Platform Tennis Tournament July 9

Platform Tennis League players are encouraged to sign up for the "Battle at the Mudhole" summer platform tennis tournament in Columbus. It is a single day event and will be held July 9. Teams are guaranteed at least three matches win or lose and the entry fee includes balls, favor, food & beer. Contact Brian Heil at 614-873-8749 to sign up.

Last year, 16 teams from Cleveland, Cincinnati, Louisville and Columbus participated: Click 2015 Columbus Summer Tournament. This year's tournament promises to be another fun event.

Week #8: Comeback Propels Fovel to Court Win

John Fovel and Ryan English came back from a 5-1 deficit to upset Luke White and Patrick Herrel in a tiebreaker. Fovel won the upper level court, which also included John Van Lokeren, by just one point over English and by two points over Herrel & White who tied for third. The court victory boosted Fovel's average to 13.19 in eight sessions. He is in 13th place among players who've participated at least 3 times. Others winning courts outright were: Patrick Herrel, Lawre Bonekemper, Scott Vaaler, Duy Vu, Bill Boughton and Ellie Palmer Maxwell. Click for the updated standings or this week's court results.

Week #7: Results From Eight Courts

Eight courts were completed in Cincinnati Platform Tennis League play at Glendale Lyceum and Kenwood Country Club. Wil Lofgren, Doug Jones (2) and Greg Carr won upper level courts. Week#6: Herrel Wins Two, Improves to 5th

Patrick Herrel won upper level courts on both Tuesday and Thursday. He earned 40 points for the victories and moved up to fifth place in the overall standings. A total of 10 courts were played in week #6. Others winning courts outright were: Doug Jones, Sandy Kuznof, Tim Schraffenberger, Ron Fraser, Greg Carr, Jamie Priest and Lawre Bonekemper.
