The Platform Tennis League (Cincinnati) opened it's 2015-16 Fall/Winter season with play at four facilities. Five players were undefeated for the evening - Rob Bakker, Thaddeus Reed, George Musekamp, Brent Sitarski and Mike Schray. Click for court results, week #1 team results or the current standings.
#5 seeds Fabian Schmahl and Pete Tarnowski won four matches to take the Platform Tennis League's "Reverse Draw" tournament. The 14-team event pitted the top seeds against each other in the early rounds, with the 1 & 2, 3 & 4, etc. playing each other in the first round. The duo survived a tough top half of the draw that featured all eight of the top seeds. John Mirlisena and Paul Gossiger came through the bottom half to face Schmahl & Tarnowski in the final.

8 courts were played on the final night of the regular season. Players were paired according to their positions in the standings. The upper level court with Doug Jones, Pete Tarnowski, Andrew Jordan, Ryan English and Ben Hall determined the regular season champion. Going into the match, both Jones and Tarnowski could finish first simply by winning the court. Jordan could finish first if he won the court and Jones finished third or lower. Jones won the court with 24 games, Tarnowski finished second with 17 and Jordan finished third with 16.
John Fovel finished the season strong, winning two upper level courts and moving up to third place in the final standings. Scott McIntosh won his upper level court outright, while Scott Degerberg and Jim Ciesick split first on the other upper level court. Adam Kwiecinski won two lower level courts and Brad Davis also was a court victor. Click for full week #7 results or the final standings.
Summer Session #2 Final Standings - Top Five
The Platform Tennis League just got approval to use the courts at Maketewah CC on Thursday nights. With the addition, we can safely add about 20 more players. We will hold at least 8 more spots for additional Maketewah members who would like to sign up + we will reopen general sign ups as well.
Our team draft is Thursday, September 10 with league play starting the following Thursday. If you would like to play and be part of the "virtual" team system, you must sign up by 5:00pm on September 9.
A special thanks to Maketewah members Steve Rafalo and Bret Bruder for endorsing the league and helping us gain acceptance.
TIME SLOT NOTE: With the added centrally located courts, we will revert back to the original 2 time slots at Cincinnati Country Club. So all start time options will again be 6:00 and 8:00.
