This session, we have already had 56 new players make their Platform Tennis League debuts. Several have played for the first time in the last two or three weeks. Newcomer Ellie Moffat, an experienced D-1 player, went 3-0 in her first session this week. Other experienced players to debut in the past couple of weeks include Sarah Chasnoff, Richard Joseph, Ken Heldman and Gina Saba. Mike Moe and Richard Canelas are two former Xavier University tennis players who are new to the sport and league. Courtney Ulrich became the third former DePauw University tennis player to join the league (Brad Pierce & Evan Webeler). Scott Corson is now one of four players who drive up from Louisville for Thursday league play (Kyle Bates, Chris McRae and Scott Triplett). Other tennis converts this session are: Jeanne Miller, Mary Ucci, Karen Games, Tom Flottman, Anne Flottman, Doug Ucci, Kelly Wolterman and Keith Rabenold.
Teams: Team #2 (Palmenter) handed Team #7 (Shiels) its first loss of the season, 19 to 17. Team #7 (Shiels) remained in first place despite the loss. Team #8 (Toth) got its first win of the season, defeating Team #1 (Lutz) 15 to 6. Click for complete week #6 team results. Individual: 19 courts were played this week. Carlos Canelas went undefeated on two courts (6-0). Others to go undefeated on a court were: Doug Jones (4-0), Thaddeus Reed (4-0), Ken Rieser (4-0), Ellie Moffat (3-0), Ken Palmer (3-0), Greg Carr (4-0), Matt Allare (4-0), Bret Bruder (3-0), Richard Canelas (3-0) and Patrick Herrel (4-0).
